Traffic crash in Murfreesboro leaves multiple people injured

On Behalf of | Jan 14, 2020 | Car Accidents |

A crash in Interstate 24 shut down the highway heading east after multiple vehicle collided and blocked the roadway. According to the report, the crash happened during the morning rush hour at 7:05 a.m.

At the scene, troopers arrived to see multiple people injured. Fortunately, no one passed away in the crash. What happened? The highway patrol lieutenant believes that three vehicles collided when one car stopped in the travel lane. Another two cars then collided with it.

The two cars that hit the first went off the road. One of them rolled over as a result of the impact. Several people had to be flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where they received support of their injuries.

What’s interesting in this case is that there is one person who fled the scene. They were a passenger in one of the vehicles, but they have not been identified. The police have said that there are pending criminal charges related to the case.

Crashes that stop traffic and involve multiple vehicles can, and often do, lead to serious consequences for those who are involved. People who are hurt could face long-term injuries and disabilities that are expensive and frustrating to live with.

If you are involved in a traffic accident, remember that you have a right to pursue a claim against anyone who caused you harm. If the driver wasn’t paying attention, merges into you or otherwise is negligent, then you may have a claim against them and be able to seek compensation for the injuries that you’ve suffered and now have to live with.
