4 telltale signs of a reckless driver

On Behalf of | Aug 30, 2018 | Commercial Vehicle Accidents |

When you got into a commercial crash, the last thing you expected was to find out that the driver had previous run-ins with the law. In the past, the driver had made mistakes that led to people getting hurt, just like this time.

How can you know if a driver is good or bad? Their driving record says volumes. Here are four signs of a reckless driver.

1. The tires on the vehicle are worn down

The first sign that someone isn’t taking driving seriously is poor maintenance on the vehicle. This includes tires with little or no tread. Without tread, the tires are slicker and likely to have trouble stopping.

2. The driver is prone to speeding tickets

Another sign of a reckless driver is if the person has multiple speeding tickets. In a case of a personal injury, it may be possible to find out how many offenses a driver has to further build your case.

3. The driver has multiple accident records

Another obvious sign of reckless behavior is having multiple accidents. Whether they’re in work vehicles or personal vehicles, they all show that a driver isn’t doing their best to avoid collisions.

4. Multiple drivers honk their horns at the vehicle

While you’re driving, do you notice multiple people honking at the driver? If so, you can deduce that the driver is violating a series of laws or being disrespectful to other drivers.

These are four signs of a reckless driver. In a commercial vehicle accident, showing that the driver was reckless could significantly help your case and settlement.
