Couples dies in violent Tennessee car accident

A brutal head-on collision took the lives of a couple in Tazewell, Tennessee. The accident happened on Sunday, Dec. 11, in the early morning hours.

Reports indicate that just two vehicles were involved in the accident. The first was being driven by a 47-year-old man, heading north on U.S. Highway 25E. His wife, who was 50 years old, was riding along in the passenger seat.

At the same time, the Tennessee Highway Patrol reported that another man was coming south, right near the intersection of Tom Ball Road and 25E when his car went out of control. He was going around a curve, though the exact reason he lost control is unclear.

In any case, the car went all the way across the road, though the northbound lane and smashed into the guardrail on that side. It bounced off and then hit the car with the husband and wife as they approached the curve going the other direction. Both were killed.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash to see exactly why it happened. The driver who allegedly lost control survived the wreck, which could help shed some light on the details. His condition was unknown at the time reports began coming out.

This tragic case shows how just a split second on the road can change a family forever. When loved ones pass away, those left behind may not only be dealing with the emotional turmoil of the loss — especially during the holiday season — but also with significant financial hurdles. For damages related to the crash, it may be possible to seek compensation through a civil lawsuit.
